If you’re telling me that you have a lot of bloating or you feel very gassy, then you might want to take an anti-gas medication, such as Simethicone or Gas-X. What that will do is that will help to dissolve the air, dissolve the gas, in order to help you feel better. Anything that will help you burp also will help to diminish the air. Taking some mint or mint tea will help to relax the lower esophageal sphincter and allow you to pass the gas from your mouth.
If you’re feeling a lot of burning or if you’re feeling a bitter acidy taste in your mouth and in your stomach, then you might want to try an antacid. You can start off with a milder antacid like Maalox or Mylanta and then you can work your way up depending on how bad your symptoms are.
In general, in order to treat indigestion, you really need to look at what the symptoms are that you’re having.
The most common cause of indigestion is the food itself. It could be something that you’re eating that’s just not agreeing with you, so it’s always good to keep a food diary and see what food you’re eating and what reaction you’re having to it. If you can kind of map that out, you can try to take that out of your diet and hopefully, never get indigestion after that.
